Who doesn't like to climb up the corporate ladder quickly?

Here are some lesser-known tips that help you make your corporate dreams come true.

1. Be a jack of all trades: It is never advised to have one focused skill. Technology is evolving very fast, and your specialization might be irrelevant soon. Adapt quickly and have many skills under your belt

2. Grow with your team: Do not consider your team as a threat. Rather, take the opportunity to learn from them. Be a good listener, accept your mistakes, and improve yourself. Maintain healthy relationships with your team, these will take you a long way.

3. Take your time: If you have recently joined a company, it’s okay to not excel in the starting. Every team has a different work culture and vibe. Take time to settle down but don’t be laid-back or hyperactive.

4. Bad etiquette and bad communication are dangerous: You may be the best at what you do, but if you can’t present yourself well, it’s impossible to progress. Work on yourself and your soft skills. Don’t take people for granted and always maintain good etiquette.

5. Always be prepared: An unexpected client call can come up. You may have to present your work without prior notice. So keep yourself updated, and never fail to make use of these instant opportunities.

6. Take leaves: Do not hesitate to use your leaves. Burnout is real. So, take a day off once in a while for self-care or go for a quick holiday. You will come back with a better mind, and can definitely notice an improvement.

7. Keep your personal life away: Everyone has bad days in their personal life, but always maintain professionalism. You don’t have to be emotionless, but never take it out on someone else at work.

8. Don’t be a boss’s pet: Respect and value your boss. But always have self-respect and never bow down to them. Do not hesitate to disagree with them. If your boss doesn't value you enough, you should reconsider if your job is the right fit for you.

9. Be resourceful in meetings: Often people don’t pay much attention to the meetings, which aren’t completely related to them. Do not be that person. If you are anyways attending it, why not make an impact? Thoroughly listen and bring some good perspective to the table.
